The tarot

Two decks. One sky.

Akhuyet joins two ancient Egyptian words. Our first tarot is made of both: two complete decks with the same cards, one for each soul.

Light · akh

The luminous soul. Cream and morning gold; the sky printed like an astronomer's glass plate, in negative.

Shadow · shuyet

The shadow soul. Indigo and night; the same sky as the eye sees it, stars burning in the dark.

Together

Each card of Light has its twin in Shadow. Side by side, their skies join into one: the stars run across the seam.

Reading a pair

Two halves, one card.

Read with one deck, or with both. Draw a card from Light, lay its twin from Shadow beside it, and the sky closes.

  • Lightwhat stands in the open: the day, the conscious, the visible.
  • Shadowwhat moves beneath it: the night, the hidden, the felt.
  • The pairthe whole sky of the card, as it truly is.

Card of the week

The card of the week

A new pair every week, here and in our letters. Receive them by email.

Made by hand, not by AI

Every star is where it truly is.

No image in these decks is AI-generated. This is how a card is born.

The catalogue

Star positions come from real astronomical catalogues: Hipparcos and the Yale Bright Star Catalogue.

The code

Each card's sky is computed in our own code, as it truly appears. Nothing is placed by guesswork.

Blender

Shapes and light are modelled by hand in 3D, so every figure has real volume and is lit like the sky around it.

The gold

Gold lines, annotations and details are finished by hand, and every card is checked against its twin.

Any moment, its sky

The sky of your moment.

A birth, a first meeting, a promise. Choose a date, a time and a place and see its sky in Light and Shadow: what was above the horizon, and what was beneath your feet.

On Kickstarter

“Your sky” will also be a limited reward: your moment printed as a Light & Shadow pair of fine-art prints on cotton paper, numbered, in very few copies.

The twelve signs

Find your constellation, and its card.

Every sign is ruled by a Major Arcana. Choose yours: we will send you its sky.

A gift before the launch

Your sky is waiting.

Choose your sign and receive, free:

  • the animated sky of your constellation
  • wallpapers for your phone and desktop
  • a first look at your card, in Light and Shadow
  • first news of the launch, and the early-bird price
A gift for everyone

The studio

Light above, shadow below.

Akhuyet is a small independent studio of two. One of us designs, one of us writes the code, and every card passes through both pairs of hands.

The name joins akh and shuyet, the luminous soul and the shadow soul of ancient Egypt. Our logo is their meeting: a horizon of gold with one star on it.

Questions

Before you ask.

When does the campaign start?

On Kickstarter, early 2027. Subscribers get the exact date first, and a reminder the moment it goes live.

How much will the decks cost?

Final prices are announced before launch. Backers in the first 48 hours get the early-bird price and the exclusive Kickstarter card.

Can I buy only one deck?

Yes. Light and Shadow are each a complete 78-card tarot, and each can be read on its own. Together they make the full sky.

Where do you ship?

To the European Union and the United Kingdom. We will announce other countries once shipping costs and duties are confirmed.

Is it right for beginners?

Yes. It follows the Rider–Waite–Smith structure, the one most books and courses use. Each box has a booklet with the keywords of every card, and the guidebook explains the meanings and the astronomy.

What language are the cards in?

English.

Is any of it made with AI?

No. The skies are computed from real star catalogues in our own code, the figures are modelled by hand in Blender and the gold is finished by hand.

Will there be a third deck?

Yes, a third sky is coming: the sky of the myths. Backers of this first campaign will see it first.

I run a shop. Can I stock the decks?

We would love to hear from you: write to contact@akhuyet.com.
